The Town of Highland Beach is an ocean side community located right off of A1A. Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, the inlet town of Highland Beach is south of Delray Beach and just north of Boca Raton in Palm Beach County. The beach spans a roughly three mile stretch and provides residents with a place to relax and enjoy their tropical lifestyle. Residents enjoy breathtaking water views overlooking the Atlantic. The beaches are also notable as a nesting ground for endangered sea turtles. From March through October, the sea turtles nest all along the beaches. Weeks later, the turtle hatchlings emerge from the sand and make their journey out to sea. Many of the Highland beach residents are retired, but there is also a good amount of vacationers and seasonal residents that show up during the winter months to enjoy the warm weather and sandy beaches.
